Evaluating the REST API is free but comes with a watermark in the barcodes. Using the REST API for non evauluation use requires a paid subscription. You purchase an API key for our software-as-a-service solution that entitles you to use it.

Several plans are offered to perfectly match your growing needs. Monthly subscription may be terminated, renewed and replaced by other plans at any time to fit your needs.

The API key is not a replacement for the regular standard or higher license required for the ActiveBarcode software for Windows. Depending on your goals, you may want to use the REST API only, so you don't need to purchase the regular license. On the other hand: The regular license is a perpetual license and does not require the API key. You can evaluate both before making a purchase decision.
